We already know that reading is awesome, but today we learned that cats enjoy reading too. In Pennsylvania the Animal Rescue League of Berks County has a wonderful program called Book Buddies that invites children in grades 1-8 to visit the shelter and read to their cats.
Kids participating in the program get to improve their reading skills and hang out with cute cats while providing much-desired company for the cats at the shelter awaiting adoption. The ARL says that the “cats find the rhythmic sound of a voice very comforting and soothing.”
And then we get to enjoy these incredibly sweet photos.
